About Us
Al Cole is a seasoned writer and editor who holds a master's degree in public affairs journalism
from The American University in Washington, D.C. Linda Cole is a mural artist, wife, and
mother of three grown children. Al and Linda became experts on sexual addiction the hard way--
by living through it. They have been married for 25 years and, before Hurricane Katrina hit,
lived in a suburb of New Orleans. They currently live outside of Atlanta.

The Shadow Christian is a simple yet profound tale written as a parable that allows you to walk
in the shoes of an ordinary man and woman forced to deal with the consequences of sexual sin.
Based on journals the couple kept for more than three years, this soul-searching journey of hope
offers great insight into the dynamics between a husband and wife as they reexamine every
aspect of their relationship with each other and with God. Al and Linda, along with a growing
list of Christian leaders and authors, believe strongly in the powerful story

tells. If you feel the same way after reading The Shadow Christian, they would greatly
appreciate your sharing it with friends and colleagues.

In many ways, the struggle to get the word out about The Shadow Christian is a modern-day
version of
The Little Engine that Could. After the manuscript received an endorsement from
Stephen Arterburn, co-author of the breakthrough bestseller
Every Man’s Battle, the author and
his wife were eagerly making plans to promote the book, which was set to be published in
October of 2005. Then Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans. They’ve been displaced
ever since. “In the midst of all the chaos and uncertainty,” says the author, “God has opened
doors for the book.”
The Shadow Christian continues to garner enthusiastic endorsements from
Christian leaders and authors, a rarity for a self-published book. Says the author: “The simple
fact that so many prominent people have taken the time to read a book sent to them by someone
they never heard of tells me that God is at work here.” Earlier this year, Al and Linda gave their
testimony at an Iron Sharpens Iron men’s conference in Hartford, Connecticut, with Rick
Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families
(to hear audio, go to Home page). They also did an interview for Man2Man Express radio. To

produces endurance, and endurance produces character,
